BUFFALO, NY — Colton’s RV, a family-owned business serving the RV community since 1962, has partnered with Renogy, a leading provider of off-grid solar power solutions, to offer their customers the latest in lithium battery and solar technology. With a deep-rooted history in automotive upholstery, vehicle service, and racing, adding RV sales since the 1990s, Colton’s RV is proud to introduce Renogy’s comprehensive solar systems to the Northeast market, ensuring a more efficient and eco-friendly RV experience for their customers.
Casey Colton, General Manager of Colton’s RV, shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration.
“One of the biggest benefits of working with Renogy is the ability to offer our customers complete solar systems all from one brand,” Casey Colton, General Manager of Colton’s RV, shared his enthusiasm for the collaboration. “Instead of piecing together various components from different suppliers, we can now provide a fully integrated system, including inverters, solar panels, controllers, and batteries. This consistency and seamless integration really enhance the customer experience.”
In addition to the simplicity of offering a complete solution, Colton’s RV also appreciates Renogy’s commitment to educating both customers and staff.
“Solar power can be complex, and we understand that it’s not always easy for first-time RV owners to grasp the concept. Renogy has done a fantastic job of breaking things down into easily digestible information,” he says. “Whether it’s their point-of-sale materials, training programs, or detailed explanations for customers who want to dive deeper into the technology, we have all the tools we need to make sure our customers understand the value of solar power.”
Casey also noted the growing interest in off-grid living, especially in the Northeast, where the boondocking culture isn’t as prevalent as in other regions.
“We’re seeing more and more customers asking about solar power solutions. While we may not have as many true boondockers as other parts of the country, there’s definitely a growing curiosity about off-grid living. Customers are increasingly aware of the benefits of solar power, and it’s our job to educate them about how it works and how it can enhance their RV experience.”
Colton’s RV has a rich history, beginning as an auto upholstery business in 1962 before expanding into RV service in the 1970s. By the 1990s, Colton’s RV began selling RVs, eventually growing to operate four locations across Western New York and Eastern Pennsylvania. The dealership has long been a trusted partner for families looking to create unforgettable memories on the road.
Founder Bill Colton was commonly referred to as the Ol’ Boy by the racing teams, drivers and fans at Lancaster (NY) National Speedway. Colton, along with the late Alex Friesen, installed the first Thermal Foam barriers surrounding the half-mile speedway. This family is no stranger to innovation.
“We’ve always been a service-first company,” tells Casey. “The relationships we form with our customers are what set us apart. We’re not just selling RVs; we’re providing an experience. That’s something that has been at the core of our business since my grandfather started the company.”
